All these tethers are impeding my work…

2 Timothy 2:20-21 In a large house there are utensils not only of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for special use, some for ordinary. All who cleanse themselves of the things I have mentioned will become special utensils, dedicated and useful to the owner of the house, ready for every good work.

“Beloved, do not seek to know the plans I have for you, but do your part to remain clean and ready for use. My plans are for your good. Trust in me. Remove all blockages to grace. Eliminate bad habits and especially work to eliminate habitual sin, no matter how small a thing it may seem to you. Habitual sins are like the ropes holding down a hot air balloon. Until all are cut, the balloon cannot fly. Work and pray to be delivered of these bindings. Ask and ask again. Confess and confess gain. Try and try again. The only failure is to stop trying. I tell you I will reward you for even the smallest effort. All these tethers are impeding my work. See them for what they are and be glad to be rid of them. We have much to do together. Rid yourself of all that keeps you apart from the Divine Will. Then you will know true joy.”

Jesus for us this is impossible, but for you all things are possible. Then grant us grace upon grace and the strong desire to be untethered, especially from our habitual sins. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, lead us and heal us. Amen.

If I showed you what the world would look like without your prayers, you would be appalled…

Wisdom 18:22 He conquered the wrath not by strength of body, not by force of arms, but by his word he subdued the avenger, appealing to the oaths and covenants given to our ancestors.

“My beloved children, do not make the grave error of discounting the effect of your prayers, your humble prayers, on the divine wrath. Already my much-wounded heart has been appeased through your little offerings. How can I encourage you in this? How can I convince you that your efforts are having their effect? If I showed you what the world would look like without your prayers, you would be appalled. So, if your prayers seem to go unanswered, do not give up. It is only that I have applied your prayers to a higher purpose. Then offer me your disappointment, wrapped in the words: ‘Jesus I trust in you. Save souls!’ I tell you, even in your disappointment you will be filled with joy!”

O my Lord, Blessed Trinity of Love, how can we begin to comprehend your love and mercy? That even your ‘no’ is a ‘yes’—yes to a much greater good. In the Divine Will, help me to always respond as I do now—Jesus I trust in you. Save souls! Amen.

Do you not know that when you pray in the Divine Will, that the ‘voice of a great multitude’ resounds in heaven?

Revelation 19:5-6 And from the throne came a voice saying, ‘Praise our God, all you his servants, and all who fear him, small and great.’ Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunder-peals, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns…’

“Beloved, do you not know that when you pray in the Divine Will, that the ‘voice of a great multitude’ resounds in heaven? Ponder this, my child. Can so great a multitude praising God be ignored in heaven? I tell you it cannot. Do not be afraid to use this unimaginable grace. Be bold and courageous. It has been given for your time to bring about the victorious reign of the Divine Will, to bring heaven to earth in a more abundant way. My child, ponder this, but do not wait until you understand it before you begin to use it. The truths are so sublime that your beginning would be delayed indefinitely. Trust that what I have revealed to my servant Luisa is true, and that it is true for you. Do not discount yourself, for that is to discount this gratuitous gift that no one is worthy of. Trust. Pray. And let your little voice be multiplied ‘like the sound of many waters.’ Child trust!”

O my beloved Father! What glory! In the Divine Will, in the name of everyone from Adam to the last man, in the Flame of Love, I thank you and praise you for this unimaginable, undeserved gift and I pray: May your glorious will reign on earth in all hearts. May your kingdom come and come quickly. Lord God, Father, Son and Spirit, I trust in your promise. I love you! Amen.

All that they enemy has planned will be used against him…

Psalm 20:5 May we shout for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God set up our banners.

“Beloved, do not be discouraged. Do you not know that your God has the victory in all things? But more than this, all that they enemy has planned will be used against him. His humiliation will be complete. Therefore, endure bravely whatever comes. Know and believe that all things work for good for those who love God and who are called according to his purpose. (cf Rom 8:28) Whatever you endure with faith, hope, and love, is a great victory, no matter how it looks on the outside. This is how the holy martyrs were able to find joy even in the most severe trial. This is how our Mother endured the shame and agony of watching her holy Son die so painful and ignominious a death. Place all your faith, hope, and trust in me. I am the only one who can satisfy the longings of the human heart. It is time. Let the glory of the Lord shine forth!”

Jesus I trust in you. May your glory be revealed to all people and nations. In your mercy, strengthen our faith, hope, and trust, so that we might be instruments for your glory. May your kingdom come, and come quickly! Amen.

Jesus I trust in you…

Blessings to all. What days we are in! I am currently reading a book on Joan of Arc by Mark Twain (re-released by Lighthouse Catholic Media and available for $6.00). Mark Twain considered it his best book, and it is of course masterfully written, based on 12 years of research on the many official documents on her life and martyrdom. In her story we find a stellar model of abject trust, the graces that flow from that trust, and the desire of God to work through humble, willing souls–especially in the most desperate of times.

Today I am re-posting a message on trust from 2010. It seems more relevant today than ever. Someone brought that post my attention today, and it tied in so well with the book on St. Joan that I felt sure God wanted me to re-post this message, and bring the book to your attention.

The original post:

My dear friends,

Recently I felt Our Lady giving me a message that at first seemed personal to me, but on reflection, I see that this Word is meant for all: “You, my child, have been given a …

The battle for souls…

Happy feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, dear friends!

I have two dreams to relate to you. One I posted in April, 2007. The other is a dream I had in the week before Christmas this year. I feel that both are calls to pray for those who may die suddenly and unprepared. This seems a dire message given that we are celebrating a New Year. But please remember that God would not send me these dreams and this message if there was no hope attached. Do not let this message fill you with dread, but with the firm belief that God will hear your prayers for souls and use your sacrifices to save many who may be lost without them. Death is hard for those left behind, but the real tragedy occurs when souls are lost. Offering prayers for souls is one way that we can be a sure sign of hope for others.

First Dream – April 2007

I was in a car by the seashore. Suddenly the sea started to rise very quickly. Many people were unprepared. I saw that many of the unprepared were famous people. They were trapped by the rising water and drowned. Then a great tsunami rose and rushed towards us. We could not escape it but I felt that we had a better chance of surviving if we stayed in our car, thinking that the car could take the pounding better than we could and we might escape with our lives.

I felt afterwards that this dream was a call to pray for those whose hearts are spiritually unprepared and who are in grave spiritual danger. Our “vehicle of safety” is the Church. It will be battered by upcoming events, but we are far safer within it than we would be outside of it.

Second Dream – December 2016

I was looking out over the harbor and saw a large cruise ship being towed into port by a tug. I thought, “That’s unusual. We don’t usually get cruise ships here.” After it docked I went to see it. There was absolutely no sign of life on it or around it. After waking I felt the ship represented death.

I believe these dreams may be related and that the events of the first (the death of many famous people) may be a sign for the timing of the second. We have just come off a year where an unprecedented number of famous people have died, probably many of them unprepared. In Canada we are also in mourning for all those who have taken their own lives through physician-assisted suicide. Ever since I had the first dream, I have been praying for those who will die unprepared. I believe the second dream is in turn an encouragement to pray even harder for those poor souls. I encourage all of us to do so. Here is the prayer I pray daily at the end of my Divine Mercy chaplet:

“Merciful Jesus, lover of souls, we beseech you by the agony of your most Sacred Heart and by the sorrows of your Immaculate Mother, to wash clean in your blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their final agony, but especially those on their way to eternal damnation and who are to die this day. Heart of Jesus, who suffered death’s agony, have mercy on these poor souls. Amen.”

We are a people of hope and our God of hope has given us powerful weapons against the culture of death, one of the greatest of which is the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We know we can trust Jesus and believe in the promise he made to St. Faustina:

“At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the indulgence is the same.” (Diary, 811)

“My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet. … Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior.” (Diary, 1541).

God’s mercy is unimaginable! Even more so in that he uses weak sinners as his instruments of mercy on earth. Just as St. Faustina was often taken in spirit to the side of dying souls so she could pray the chaplet in their presence, in the Divine Will we can ask for the same grace, for nothing is impossible for God. “Jesus, in the Divine Will, take me into the presence of those in most dire need of your mercy as I pray this chaplet…”

God is calling us to participate in his ministry of salvation. May our Blessed Mother guide us and help us in the battle for the souls of her beloved children.

O my Jesus, I love you, I trust you, I surrender myself to you. Please take care of everything and everyone in my spiritual territory. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you. Save souls!

On every first Wednesday of the month, my Chaste Heart pours numerous graces on all who rely on my intercession…

Blessings to all! I know we all pray a lot of novenas, but I really feel called to promote prayer to St. Joseph in the days leading up to the first Wednesday of December. In the approved apparitions of St Joseph in Itapiranga, Brazil* (see caveat below), St. Joseph said:

‘My beloved son, today is the first Wednesday of the month. On every first Wednesday of the month, my Chaste Heart pours numerous graces on all who rely on my intercession. On these Wednesdays, men will not receive a shower of simple graces, but very strong torrents of extraordinary graces! I will share them with those who honor me and rely on me, all the blessings, all the virtues, and all the love I received from my Divine Son Jesus and my spouse the Blessed Virgin Mary while still living in this world and all the graces that I continue to receive in the glory of paradise.’”

I leave it up to you how to receive these torrents of grace from the heart of Papa Joseph. I like to pray the St. Joseph Memorare:

REMEMBER, O most pure Spouse of the Virgin Mary, my sweet Protector Saint Joseph, never was it heard that anyone who implored thy help nor sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I come to thee and to thee do I fervently commend myself. Despise not my petitions, I beseech thee, foster Father of the Redeemer, but graciously hear them. Amen.

Let us all pray for each other and for the needs of each one of us.

(*The Apostolate of St. Joseph website had the only English translation that I could find of the approved Itapiranga, Brazil apparitions. There is no English translation on the official site for the apparition. I have no way to vet the English translation linked to here, and have not vetted the entire site. Someone brought to my attention that not all the links on the site with regard to other apparitions have full Church approval. Please use the site with reasonable caution.)

Colossians 1:15-20

Blessings dear friends. Today’s second reading for the Feast of Christ the King was from Colossians, a passage on which Our Lord taught me many beautiful lessons. I invite you to meditate on those lessons. You may find the link to a compilation of the lessons on the right sidebar with the title Colossians 1:15-20, or you may click here: https://pelianitoblog.wordpress.com/colossians-115-20/.

O merciful Saviour, may your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Maranatha!

Like the woman, keep breathing, keep praying, and concentrate on the work at hand…

Joel 1:15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, and as destruction from the Almighty it comes.

“Beloved, the labor pains are in full blossom, yet the labor is not over. For just as for a woman nearing the time of giving birth the pains intensify, so too you will see much more in the coming days. Just as a woman has to keep in mind what she is laboring for, so you too should keep in your mind the promised Era of Peace. Crucifixion must come before resurrection. Like the woman, keep breathing, keep praying, and concentrate on the work at hand. All shall be well dear children. I am near.”

Beloved Father of my heart, I love you! In your mercy, keep us from despair as we labor to give birth to your gift of peace. What joy that will bring to us. May your kingdom come and come quickly. Amen.

I am the shield that surrounds you, your glory, and the one who lifts up your head…

Psalm 3:3 But you, O Lord, are a shield around me, my glory and the one who lifts up my head.

“Child! Why are you downcast? I am the shield that surrounds you, your glory, and the one who lifts up your head. Do not fear! Do not fear! I AM. ‘I have come so you may have life and have it abundantly.’ Then do not dwell in the shadow of death. Do not cling to the darkness. No matter the circumstances, contemplate your loving Abba. Feel his love, his protection, his infinite, unconquerable strength. Nestle yourself into the crook of his arm. Smell his sweet fragrance. Bask in the warmth of his loving gaze. This is your home, little one, more real than what you see around you. Dwell there, my child, and be at peace. Shalom.”

O beloved Father, Abba, how can such a miserable creature presume to do such a thing? Your love and mercy alone make it possible. Then, fiat! Let it be done to me, and to all those you have given me to pray for, as you have said. Abba, I love you! I love you! Amen.
