Mother Angelica…

Let us keep our beautiful Mother Angelica in our prayers dear friends. Here is an update from Spirit Daily:, now confirmed through the NCR:

  1. St. Faustina shared about such moments in her Diary:

    (872) January 7. During the Holy Hour, the Lord allowed me to taste His Passion. I shared in the bitterness of the suffering that filled His soul to overflowing. Jesus gave me to understand how a soul should be faithful to prayer despite torments, dryness, and temptations; because oftentimes the realization of God’s great plans depends mainly on such prayer. If we do not persevere in such prayer, we frustrate what the Lord wanted to do through us or within us. Let every soul remember these words: “And being in anguish, He prayed longer.” I always prolong such prayer as much as is in my power and in conformity with my duty.

“Often the realization of God’s great plans depends mainly on such prayer.” Prayer that comes out of our fatigue or dryness is often the most powerful of prayers. And it is in these moments of prayer when we have to fight to stay faithful, that some big battles are won!

Hi Pelianito. I just read this and it just brought such joy to my heart. I’m just passing it along! Such hope such grace given to us such extreme wisdom for us to persevere

  2. Thanks for the heads-up; I hadn’t heard that she was declining. She has been a huge influence in my life. I will keep her in my prayers.

I haven’t looked yet, but have you cross-posted this at the Prayer Requests portion of Charlie’s site?

    1. Just hearing this now, too Mick. I was at Mass this morning and wish I could have lifted her up with my intentions, but God knows what we don’t know so maybe our prayers get directed in spite of ourselves. Like you, I too have received much from this Holy Warrior! Now it sounds if she is entering the final war. I will try to keep her at the top of my prayers today. I love the beautiful prayer that she says on Spirit Daily. That should be our rule for life. Oh dear, what will we do without her? (I can just hear that feisty voice: “What’ll you do? Stand up, pick up your sword and get into the fight! I’ve got your back.”)

  3. Thank you for letting us know. I love Mother Angelica and look forward to seeing her Classics rerun each week. It is amazing that each of her messages is still so timely and wonderful. Will remember Mother in my rosary today.
