Nehemiah 3 (The re-building of the temple after exile.)
“My child, do you see what a long and arduous task it was to rebuild the temple? Do you see how many labourers were needed? Do you see the hardship, and how they had to work together? My child, multiply that effort ten thousand times and you will begin to see what I am asking of my faithful followers. Every aspect of the Church is in need of repair. What will you give me? Your heart? Your hands? Your time? Your sufferings? Your prayers? Do you see how much your Lord needs you? Do you understand what I am asking? Do not turn away. Do not make excuses, but give yourself completely to my holy will. I can assure you that what you give me in this life will be multiplied to the infinite in the next. I am asking, my children. Will you respond?”
O Jesus, you left the glory of heaven to suffer and die for us. Fill us with your generosity, that we might say with our Mother, “Fiat!” Here I am Lord. I come to do your will. Amen.
