Psalm 2:10-11 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, with trembling kiss his feet, or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled.
“My beloved, what is mercy? To allow evil to advance unchecked? No! The Lord is just as well as merciful. The poor and the innocent cry out to me. Their blood is so dear to me and I see it on the hands of those who have the power to work for justice. Rulers of the earth, do you not understand? I give you authority so that you can work for justice and the common good. What do I see instead? Corruption, greed, exploitation, death. Then prepare! For the God of justice will have his day—and soon! Proclaim a fast if you are wise. The ruler of Nineveh had wisdom. Do you? My children do not wait for corrupt rulers to proclaim a fast, but with prayer and supplication beg the Lord for mercy on this wicked generation. My ear is tuned to my little ones who pray. Do not make me wait. Much is depending on your prayers and sacrifices. Children—pray!”
Heavenly Father, merciful and just, we beg you through the most holy wounds of Jesus, for mercy on this wicked generation. Hear the prayers of your poor little ones, made perfect in the Blood of Christ. Help us always to work and pray for justice. May your kingdom come—and come quickly! Save souls O Lord, especially those most in need of your mercy. Amen.
