1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 As you know, we treated each one of you as a father treats his children, exhorting and encouraging you and insisting that you conduct yourselves as worthy of the God who calls you into his kingdom and glory.
“Beloved, now is not the time to backslide, weary though you may be. Now is the time to renew your resolve through prayer and fervent supplication. The God of all grace will shower you with every gift you need to sustain your faith in these days of temptation and trial. Now is not the time to let up on your prayers, but to re-double your efforts, to focus your attention on remaining in the Divine Will. If you are weary it is because you have not asked for the grace to live each moment in the will of God. In grace your spirit is refreshed and at peace, even while a tempest rages around you. I am not leaving you to your own devices, my children. I am offering you all the strength of the Divine Will. Fear not! I am yours, your are mine, we are one!”
Jesus, by your holy will may your presence within me sustain me in every moment. In the Divine Will I accept every grace and gift it pleases you to give me and I draw living water from the springs of mercy to flood the whole world. Lord Jesus have mercy! Amen.
