Hebrews 4:9-10 Therefore, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God. And whoever enters into God’s rest, rests from his own works as God did from his.
“My beloved, how my heart longs to set my people free from toil, trial, and tyranny! Your Father has seen the sufferings of his people, the great chain of affliction that binds humanity on account of sin. You cannot imagine how much I long to walk in the Garden once again with my children! No longer will they feel afraid; they will sleep like infants, safe, secure, at peace. Little children, your current Sabbath rest should be a foretaste and a longing for the Era of Peace, when you will walk in the Garden with your God. Enter into my rest—now—of your own free will, and you will find your rest uninterrupted in eternity. Peace my children. Shalom.”
Heavenly Father, how often I have neglected to enter into your rest on the Sabbath. In your mercy, grant us grace and peace so that our busy minds and bodies will know and appreciate the foretaste of heaven that is given to us on the Lord’s Day. Prince of Peace have mercy! Amen.
