Zephaniah 2:3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth, who have observed his law; Seek justice, seek humility; perhaps you may be sheltered on the day of the LORD’S anger.
“My child, you have been given the remedy, the antidote to God’s wrath—humility. For the humble and repentant heart, there is nothing to fear. It is the proud who will find no comfort on the day of destruction. Woe to the earth! Sorrow and woe! But to the humble and the meek, I will pour out my Spirit in abundance and they will be consoled. Child, be littler still. Take every opportunity for humility. Even someone in a position of authority can practice humility by acting with justice and treating others with dignity. Remember always to place your own needs and desires last. Imitate your Savior in this—he who did not cling to his divinity, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave. My child, humility will be your power in the time of trial.”
Jesus, how sinful I am! Give me grace upon grace, and in the Divine Will clothe me in the humility you had when you made your Fiat in the garden. Jesus, glorious humility, I trust in you! Amen.
