Let the Blood of my Son continue its work on earth through you…

Joel 2:17 Between the porch and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep, and say, “Spare, O LORD, your people, and make not your heritage a reproach, with the nations ruling over them! Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?'”

“My beloved, am I deaf to the pleas of my people? I tell you I am not. Offer the sacrifice of the Mass for conversions. I tell you, even if I could turn away from your supplications, I could never turn away from the perfect sacrifice offered for souls. Let this perfect offering call down anew the mercy of your God who longs for all to be saved. My child, I have given you a great weapon against the enemy. Do not let it go unused, but let the Blood of my Son continue its work on earth through you. Do not delay! The time is short and many, many souls are in grave danger.”

Father, Son, and Spirit, I thank you for this timely reminder. In your mercy, multiply all our offerings, most especially the offering of the Mass, in the Divine Will, for the sake of the souls you love so much. Jesus we trust in you!

(Afterthought: As I was thinking about the best way to offer the most Masses for souls, this prayer came to my mind. It is St. Gertrude’s prayer for the souls in Purgatory, but it also includes prayers for the conversion of sinners. I added the parts in bold to the original prayer, begging St. Gertrude’s pardon. I’m sure she won’t mind.

Eternal Father, in the Divine Will, I offer you the most precious blood of your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home and within my own family and especially for the conversion of a great many sinners through the Immaculate Heart of our most Blessed Mother.

Thank you Jesus for multiplying the labor of the few for the good of the many as you did with the loaves and fishes! Your goodness and mercy are amazing, infinite, and beyond our comprehension. I offer you the gratitude of the Gloriana wrapped in the love of the Blessed Mother in thanks. Alleluia! Thanks be to God!

  1. I was always taught by the sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary that the worth of one Mass was infinite, and that there was no greater prayer. So anything and everything can be prayed for in infinite power at one Mass…

    Blessings to all…

  2. Absolutely dear sister! I have over the years also understood how powerful the liturgy of the Mass is. We as believers should understand this but many people even though they attend Mass regularly, they do not have a feeling for or a love for this ultimate gift from Christ Himself at the last supper. And so many long and sad faces are also present. They are present physically but not spiritually. If only they would comprehend the extraordinary beauty and usefulness of such a prayer. Mystics have many times mentioned this. The presence of angels, the blessed Mother and others have often been reported. Jesus is definitely present in the Eucharist along with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Wow, what a gift, what a sacrament!!!!! And yet why the long faces???God bless you all. Giovanni.

  4. The promise with each.prayerful recitation of the original prayer is that 1000 souls are released from.Purgatory. I’m hopeful that the same number or better is true for souls saved for heaven! Thank you, Pelianito…

  5. In looking for ways to pray for the souls in purgatory our rosary group took our rosary beads and say one St. Gertrude’s Pray on the crucifix and one for every bead on the rosary. Thats 60 prayers, as Our Lord told St. Gertrude, he would release 1000 souls from purgatory every time this prayer is said, thats 60,000 souls per person every time this is said, for a rosary group of 20 people, thats 1.2 million souls released from purgatory in the 15 minutes it takes to say these prayers over the rosary beads. We will add this additional line to our prayers, thank you for what you do.

    1. Thank you Steve, for sharing this! This illustrates exactly how our Lord multiplies our efforts far out of proportion to what we put in–the loaves and fishes factor at work! I believe he has used this message and forum to confirm what you are doing and to spread the use of this form of prayer. How wonderful it is to see how God weaves the threads of our lives into such an intricate tapestry. Wow!

  6. What if a mere 2000 people around the world said this every day….. Then ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY MILLION souls would be released from purgatory EVERY DAY!!. Think of the gift to GOD and Our Most Blessed Mother that this would be to empty purgatory and send these souls into the waiting arms of those in heaven. Consider this my challenge for all who participate in this website. Take this to all of your Rosary groups, say this in the car while in traffic to and from work. 2000 people working 15 minutes a day. When the holy souls in purgatory are finally released from their pains and enjoy the beatitude of heaven, they never forget their friends on earth and their gratitude knows no bounds. Prostrate before the Throne of God, they never cease to pray for those who helped them, and they protect us from the evils that threaten us. In today’s economy, this is the only true Money in the Bank you will ever get.

    1. And as we include prayers for conversion through the Immaculate Heart, we help quench our Lord’s thirst for souls, and help to mitigate in some way the punishment due to sin as our Lord implored us in no uncertain terms in this message. Let’s make an effort to memorize the prayer and pass it on. May his kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

  7. It now appears that, through our cooperation with heaven, the Floodgates of Mercy are able to open wide for souls on earth–and also for souls in Purgatory as well!

We are now able to battle extremely powerfully for the eternal happiness of our brothers and sisters on earth–and also for those who have passed from this world who are not yet in heaven…

I love this prayer~Praise be to God!!!

  8. I was pondering the “miracle of the loaves” that was mentioned above. What beautiful application there is to this string of meditation and discussion… what immense teaching there is in that gospel passage. “This is a lonely place, and the time has slipped by, so send the people away, and they can go to the villages to buy themselves some food.” MT 14:15 How difficult it is for humanity to let go of useless worldly thinking and incredulity. Our Father is so good to us and truly wishes to lavish boundless gifts of mercy on all His children. And the Mercy beyond imagining, as if to say, “I understand your struggle with your humanity” followed that up in the next gospel passage by walking on the water. “Truly, you are the Son of God.” MT 14:33

Lord, help us to remain obedient and simple in our faith. It is our joy to offer you what little we have for the salvation of souls.
